Barry Cawston has an almost mysterious ability to capture the colours, contours and beauty of places the great majority of us would not give a second glance. Shot on large format his images have a cinematic quality enhanced by his subtle use of light and observation of detail. The results are unusual, spectacular and often moving.
He is regularly commissioned by English Heritage and by international charities. In 2011 his piece “Tibetan Cowboy” was a star feature of BBC’s major art programme, “Show Me The Monet”. His work is held in several notable private collections.
Barry aims to make Russia the subject of his next major overseas project.
